This site was created in 2012, in anticipation of my election to the International Board of Directors of Lions Clubs International for the years 2013-2015, in order to present my candidacy. The election took place at the international convention in Hamburg on July 9, 2013. These pages were then to be used to keep the lions of Switzerland, and elsewhere, informed of my activities as member of the Board. The menu at the top of this site will allow you to find out more about my private, professional and lionistic résumé. It has periodically updated. However, the blog was not as regularly updated as I had planned. Mostly due to lack of time. The articles were not many, but after more than 10 years serving our international association, I plan to write a summary soon. This time I hope to find the time to do it … |

What is the international Board of Directors and what are the tasks of the Directors?
The international Board of Directors is chaired by the International President and there are currently 35 International Directors. The Directors are from all 8 Constitutional Areas. Europe represents the Constitutional Area 4 and is awarded 6 seats. The Long Range Planning Committee Europe allocates those seats between the European Multiple Districts and Single Districts.
For the years 2013-2015, our Multiple District 102 was requested to propose a candidate, who was then to presented at the European Forum 2012 in Brussels, and elected during the International Convention 2013 in Hamburg. The next Swiss candidate will be presented at the Europa Forum 2021 in Thessaloniki and elected at the International Convention 2022 in Montreal.

The directors tasks are to participate to 4 Board meetings per year, be member of at least one of the 11 Board Committees and represent the International President and the Board at Lions events such as Conventions, Forums, Council meetings and many other meetings of importance.
